Business Intelligence Officer – Medical Aid Ultra-Med Health Care
About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Intelligence Officer to support data-driven decision-making within our Medical Aid operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting healthcare and financial data to improve operational efficiency, manage risk, and enhance member experience. |
Duties and Responsibilities |

• Analyse medical aid claims, membership, provider, and financial data to identify trends and insights • Develop dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as claims ratios, utilisation rates, and cost drivers • Support actuarial, finance, and operations teams with data analysis • Conduct predictive and trend analysis to support strategic planning • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with healthcare regulations • Provide insights to improve fraud detection, cost containment, and service delivery • Present findings and recommendations to management |
Qualifications and Experience |

• Bachelor’s Degree in either Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, Risk management or related field • 2–5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, preferably within healthcare or medical aid environment • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets • Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) • Advanced Excel skills • Understanding of medical aid claims, healthcare funding models, and regulatory requirements (added advantage) • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills |
